Axos Rewards Checking Review

Up to 3.30% APY, one of the highest checking APYs in the U.S. Independent Axos Rewards Checking review: 4.5/5 for checking. Best for Maximizing checking APY.

By Michael Hewitt, Founder & Editor-in-Chief.

Our verdict

People willing to work for a checking rate can earn up to 3.30% APY at Axos, but the full rate takes $1,500+ in monthly direct deposits, 10 debit transactions or a linked money manager, $2,500 in each of two Axos Invest accounts, and an Axos loan payment. Unlimited domestic ATM fee reimbursements and no monthly or overdraft fees make it easy to live with. That five-part condition is why it isn't rated higher.

Skip it if you don't want to keep money in Axos Invest or pay an Axos loan from the account, since the top rate needs both.
