Our verdict
Capital One's 360 CDs ask for no minimum and run from 6 to 60 months, with a limited-time 11-month CD at 4.40% APY on top of a 4.00% 12-month rate and a ladder that holds near 3.50% to 3.60% out to five years. The penalty is 3 months of interest on terms up to a year and 6 months beyond. The 4.40% is a special with no published end date, so check the rate for your term before you fund.
Skip it if you may need the money before the term ends, or you are only here for the 11-month special and it has ended.

Highlights
12-month CD at 4.00% APY; a limited-time 11-month CD pays 4.40% (Capital One's own table, effective 10/12/2026)
Rest of the ladder: 9 months 3.75%, 18 and 60 months 3.60%, 24 to 48 months 3.50%, 6 months 3.30%
No minimum deposit; Capital One's CD page says you can open up to 50 CDs at once, and its account terms say it may limit the number of accounts; you cannot add money to an existing CD
Early withdrawal costs 3 months' interest on terms of 12 months or less and 6 months' interest on longer terms; partial withdrawals are not allowed
What we like
No minimum deposit, so a ladder can start with any amount
The penalty tops out at six months of interest
Long terms hold near 3.50% to 3.60%, so the ladder does not fall off at three and five years
If you fund a new CD by linking an external bank account and the deposit arrives within 10 calendar days of your application, you get the higher of the application-date and funding-date rate
Where it falls short
The 4.40% rate is the 11-month special, which Capital One offers for a limited time without saying when it ends
No partial withdrawals and no added deposits during the term
Early withdrawal can cost more than the interest earned
Fees, minimums, and rates
Monthly fee: $0 monthly; early-withdrawal penalty of 3-6 months' interest. Minimum to open: $0. Current APY: 4.00%. Rates and fees last checked on October 12, 2026.
