Chase Savings Review

Basic savings from the nation's largest bank with 5,000+ branches. Independent Chase Savings review: 3.4/5 for big bank savings.

By Michael Hewitt, Founder & Editor-in-Chief.

Our verdict

As a side account for existing Chase customers who want 5,000+ branches, Chase Savings works, but it pays 0.01% APY, dramatically lower than online high-yield accounts. The $5 monthly fee goes away with a $300 balance or a $25 monthly auto-save. You're paying for convenience, and the rate is what drags it down.

Skip it if you want a meaningful rate on savings, or can't keep $300 in or auto-save $25 a month.
