SoFi Student Loans Review

Private in-school loans with no origination or late fees, fixed from 2.99% APR, and rate discounts that depend on autopay and conditions.

By Michael Hewitt, Founder & Editor-in-Chief. Rates last checked October 21, 2026.

Our verdict

SoFi's in-school loans charge no origination, application or late fees and start at 2.99% APR fixed, but that floor includes autopay and is reserved for the strongest borrowers. Variable rates run to 15.99%, capped at 17.95%. Check the rate you would get with your own cosigner before you assume the floor.

Skip it if you need a rate near the floor without a cosigner, or you need a loan under $1,000.
