UnitedHealthcare suits people who need coverage that travels, with plans in all 50 states, the second-largest provider network and strong prescription coverage through OptumRx. Premiums are mid-range, from $280 a month, and prior authorization draws complaints. If you take regular prescriptions or are changing employers, it's worth pricing.
Skip it if you want the cheapest premium, or want to avoid prior authorization fights.
